Affenpinscher, Airedale Terrier, Basenji, Labradoodle, Standard Poodle, Standard Schnauzer. All these have a reputation for being “low shedders”. However the dog that doesn’t shed at all is a myth I’m afraid.

I’m sure that there are many other breeds that have owners who allege that their dog doesn’t shed. The truth is that dogs who have hair with a long replacement cycle will shed less. Attention to regular grooming will help enormously. After all the more hair you remove through grooming and vacuuming the house, the less will be left around to cause trouble. Diet can also affect the issue, as can central heating.
