Summer is coming: – Dogs die in hot cars

Hot dogs die in cars!

Heatstroke can result in brain damage or death. Watch for symptoms such as restlessness, excessive thirst, heavy panting, lethargy, lack of appetite, dark tongue, rapid heartbeat, fever, vomiting, or lack of coordination.

Animals cannot perspire, but expel heat through the pads on their feet or by panting. Pets left in the car even for a few minutes are prone to heat exhaustion, heat stroke, brain damage, or even death. Animals can succumb to heatstroke in as little as 15 minutes.

About Keith

I am not a vet, but I am a dog lover. I wanted my dog (Sandro) to be reasonably well-behaved. I created my website to help other dog owners.
